Introducing the new Volunteer Coordinators

Introducing the new Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinators from North Wales Outdoor Learning Ltd.

Carolyn Burkey

I’m Carolyn Burkey and I have lived in Llanynys for over 20 years with my husband and children. My background is in outdoor education and training and I have over 25 years’ experience of running outdoor activities and tasks with all age groups and abilities in outdoor settings.

I have previously been involved locally in school PTAs, as a leader with Ruthin Cubs and am a member of Ruthin Panto Society.

Polly Snape

PollyI’m Polly Snape and have lived in Ruthin for almost 10 years. I’m a teacher, Forest School leader, writer and director, and have worked on several Heritage Lottery projects, specialising in bringing local history to life through drama and film, as well as developing creative education workshops.

I’m a keen scuba diver and in my spare time I write and direct for Ruthin Panto Society and Youth Theatre.

Pandemic Delays

Due to the pandemic, the work on-site and community engagement has been unable to take place as originally intended but now that we are both in post we are keen to get to know local residents, businesses, schools and the wider community and to start planning for the future.

We will be updating the website and social media pages as and when work and activities can take place but in the meantime please do get in touch if you would like to share your ideas with us at dyfnog@northwalesoutdoorlearning.co.uk
